Stretching Before Your Rounds

Just like in most sports, stretching is vital to having success.  Especially in golf.  Most golfers (myself included) find themselves rushing to the tee box after they've checked in and they're off to the races.  Try to arrive to the golf course 30-45 minutes prior to your tee time.  This is not just to check in/practice a bit, but to stretch as well!  One key stretch I would focus on is toe touches.  While keeping your knees straight, try to touch your toes with your hands.  This is to help stretch your hamstrings and lower back as well.  Try not to bounce while stretching either.  Next focus on your shoulders.  Take a golf club and extend your arms straight out in front of you while gripping the club on both ends (one palm facing down or up, opposite for the other hand).  Slowly move your arms laterally and you should feel a stretch in your shoulders.  Again, try not to bounce.  This will focus on stretching your shoulders which is key for a fluid golf swing.  After these two simple stretches you'll be much more ready for your round!
