“Getting an inch of snow is like winning 10 cents in the lottery.” – Bill Watterson, author and cartoonist of “Calvin and Hobbes”.
We’ve been fairly lucky this winter in terms of snow fall. December was an unusually warm month and we were able to keep the course open for most of it. And while some such as Mr. Watterson, apparently, like the snow, we golfers do not (at least in large quantities).
Aside from Winter Storm Jonas, we’ve only seen dustings or small accumulations that disappear in the next day’s sun. Hopefully that’ll remain the case for the duration of the winter.
Our activities are starting to ramp up again already!
Last weekend we were at the Washington DC Golf Show at the Dulles Expo Center along with our PWC sister courses and a couple of other Billy Casper Golf (BCG) courses.
This weekend, we’ll be having a Valentine’s Weekend Sweetheart Special where two golfers can play nine holes for just $14! So come out for a quick round before your warmer indoor plans.
On the 21st and 27th we will be at the 2nd annual BCG NoVA Job Fair. So if you know or are looking for employment opportunities in golf, stop by one of the two shows!
Last week, Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early spring and we’re hoping that forecast rings true. Last year we received several inches of snow in early March. But in 2016 we’re hoping to tab March 1 as our official return to normal operations!
Later in March you can knock off the winter rust with our Spring Swing Kickoff!
Keep checking back for more updates we inch closer and closer to the golf season!
